The Witch's Apprentice is an illustrated album revolving around the story of a young witch who joins the Academy of Witchcraft and struggles with the tasks. She has to work hard to learn and ask her peers for help in order to graduate. She is accompanied on her journey by her feline friend and guide.
The illustration above spreads over two pages near the half of the story and shows how the young witch tries to conjure up a lizard in the forest, but because she confuses the words, she conjures a dragon instead.
Though curated with digital programs, the illustration style evokes a traditional feeling thanks to the use of textures reminiscent of pencil strokes. The graphic style is stylized and suitable for children aged 5-10.
